What it means to both thrive and do work you love

September 9, 2018

Have you ever wondered whether it is possible to thrive and do work you love?

I believe wholeheartedly that as women, we can.

This is the essence of what I teach and why I believe doing this work is essential.

How I define thriving and doing work you love:

Thriving if you look at the definition of thriving, it means to prosper or flourish. This ability to continually thrive is dependant on the foundation and conditions we create for use to do so as women.

Doing work you love this is about self-expression and self-empowerment. It is about finding your alignment between who you are and the work you are here to do in the world.

The women I work with, typically reach a point where they are questioning what success looks like to them. They desire freedom to travel, flexibility and to be driving their own path.

In order to create this life, we go deeper and get clear on what doing work you love means for you.

None of what I teach, is new wisdom. What makes it unique is how we overlay it, and how it specifically applies to women who want to thrive do work they love.

What I teach within the concept of thriving and doing work you love

Part One – Creating a foundation to thrive:

This work involves self evaluation, and determining what needs to stay and what needs to go in order to say yes to that dream career.

We look at energy consumption – what goes out (physically and emotionally) vs. what nourishes and is energy giving. This is a critical step, because many of us are operating on autopilot. At this point, we have done so for several years. As a result, we begin to feel a little out of balance. So the first thing is to stop and consciously ask yourself “are all these actions, creating the outcome I really want?”

Operating on autopilot means we might be unaware that some emotions are hijacking our energy. One small habit shift – in particular what we say no to, will make more room for yes.

This work is about consciously creating space, to allow you to have both physical and emotional energy available to you to take on the next right action towards what you want.

Lifestyle Design

Designing a life which is attune to your individual self-care needs and a daily routine. This is about creating little bookends to our action-filled day – quiet time go go within, get connect and get clear.

We also look at how we flow (energetically, sexually, creatively or emotionally) by aligning our life with our monthly cycle. This also informs how our work plays a key role in achieving the kind life that we desire.

Part Two: How to move in the direct of doing the work we love

Similar to her physical foundation, the stability of your sense of self is tied back to the development of your inner power and your outer expression. To explain this, I like to use two archetypes.

These archetypes I first learned about through Kundalini yoga, however, the sacred feminine teachings also share similar archetypes.

The Royal Woman: resembles self empowerment

“When a woman identifies herself from within, she develops a strong inner core of values and truth and makes peace with her past”

Much of this work is about exploring what you think, how you feel, the belief systems, your values, your why – we are going for alignment here.

If you have dissonance between your circumstances and the reality you want to create – for example the job you currently have vs. your dream job, then the quickest way to close the gap is working with our thoughts – or your inner world.

When I’m working with women who are looking to make a shift – move towards more purposeful work, begin a business or start exploring a side project; we work on each of these areas to ensure that they feel clear and powerful within themselves.

From there we can plan, we can articulate their vision for their life.

The radiant woman who resembles self expression

“Her projection is one of self-confidence, and it creates a pathway for everything to fall into place around her”

The work around self-expression, is about inviting curiosity, exploration and expression without self doubt or a need to control the outcome.

Finally, I teach women the importance of soulful goal setting once we’ve created the physical foundation combined with the thinking and feeling that will create the reality they desire.
