Rise Yoga is an urban oasis tucked away above the bustling Bridge Road in the Melbourne inner city suburb of Richmond. Our decision to feature this lovely studio, was sparked after experiencing one of their Power Flow classes on a balmy Friday afternoon back in November.

As you ascend the stairs to the studio, you are greeted by a light and airy reception come chill out area, which echoes that of a New York loft. The natural light filters through to the heated studio, owned by the gorgeous Rosie McCaughey. Rosie has an extensive background which includes both Physiotherapy and clinical Pilates so starting a yoga studio was a natural progression.

Rise: to originate…to come into existence

The name ‘Rise’ came about through a desire to provide a studio that was accessible to anyone of any level or physical nature. Stemmed from Rosie’s own personal journey and strong athletic background she realised the healing power of yoga that could benefit anyone.

With this in mind, Rosie also chose to heat the studio with a unique kind of panel called FIR. The FIR panels heat the bodies in the room not the air itself providing a naturally detoxifying effect to promote optimum blood flow and speed up the elimination of waste products from the body (fats, chemicals and toxins).

Rise has also been thoughtfully created with the environment in mind, utilising bamboo flooring, low energy lighting and recycled furniture – now that’s one conscious beauty!
