This weekend I have the less than fun task of cleaning the bath. Believe me, when I say cleaning, I sadly mean give the bath a proper deep clean. It is not a pretty sight I tell you!

I feel like throwing a mix of cleaning products at it, brushing my hands and walking away hoping it takes care of itself.

However, since starting this blog, a challenge I’ve set myself is to think about different ways of doing things. So I asked my good friend Google to point me in the right direction and Martha Stewart was able to step up to the plate with her nontoxic Tub Scrub.

Hurrah for Martha!

Recipe:

  • 1 cup x baking soda
  • 1 teaspoon x liquid soap
  • 5 drops x anti-bacterial essential oil – a couple you can choose from are: eucalyptus, rosemary, tea tree or peppermint
  •  A splash of water (not too much, just enough to make a paste)

Directions:

  1. Mix all ingredients together in to a paste
  2. Use the paste to scour the surface of your bathtub with a sponge, brush or your chosen bathroom-cleaning implement!

Results:

… To be revealed !

I’ll be updating this post with photo evidence,  a brief summary and results after I have put the Tub scrub to good use (hopefully it’s a good success story for you all!)

Tell us what are some of your natural cleaning solutions or products you would recommend?
