Inspiring Sisters – Introducing Erin Kyna
Today I have the pleasure of introducing you to one Melbourne beauty who I have been dying to interview since seeing her speak only a couple of months back.
The radiant, Erin Kyna.
Erin Kyna is a Melbourne-based meditation teacher and life coach on a mission: she’s passionate about helping her clients gain Buddhist-monk-peaceful minds, a deliriously happy soul, and a crystal clear clarity for what they want out of life. She does this by helping people transform their lives so they can let go of their fear, and live a life with graceful ease, heart-stopping love and boundless joy.
Erin a qualified life coach with Coach U international, qualified Meditation teacher with Melbourne Meditation Center, is a passionate yoga teacher, gaining her 350hr Yoga Teacher Training from The Australian Yoga Academy.
Why A Conscious Beauty LOVE’s Erin:
Our worlds collided only a couple of months ago, through a collaborative event held by a company that binds many of the wellness industry together – lululemon athletica. Erin was last to speak on a rather cool Melbourne day, but she held the attention of the room till the dear end. Little did we know that this event marked a significant milestone in her career, the one thing most of us fear more than death – public speaking. That time that she graced the stage, sharing truths with all 200+ people in the room had such an effect, I couldn’t help but meet this radiant beauty in person.
What I can tell you is that Erin is straight up, generous and loving with her words – a woman who has truly found her calling in this lifetime.
And now from the beauty herself…
Tell me about your Brand’s vision?
To teach peace, love and forgiveness, and catalyse a new world reality. No biggie 🙂
What makes your brand unique? What are ‘must-haves’ for your brand?
Non judgment. Total acceptance. I vow to always see my client in the highest light, and see them in their unlimited form, and then help them to see themselves in that light too. In this world, I see everything as energy, everything as an opportunity, and everything is in divine timing. It’s about surrendering and trusting. There is no pushing, no selling, no expectations. It’s a totally new paragdigm for business, quite different from what most people know business to me, but it means that if I stay in the state of gratitude, then I will continue to receive. It’s created unbelievable success and opportunities so far, I can’t wait to see where else it takes me!
What is your favourite way to nourish your soul?
M E D I T A T I O N! Without doubt! Meditation for me is like being really, really thirsty, and taking a massive drink of cool, fresh water. It’s that nourishing.
What are you most grateful for in your life?
My difficulties. I’ve overcome abuse, domestic violence, a drug addiction. All of this has led me to where I am now, and I am so, so grateful for everything I have experienced. It’s put me on this path, and given me my purpose.
What has been your greatest ah-ha moment/turning point in your life to date that led you to creating your brand/product?
Interestingly, meditation was never part of my original business plan. I had a huge transformative experience in the cave of Mary Magdalene in the south of France, and when I came home, I thought, I want to share this with someone. I dragged two girls from work to come around and listen, and I was so scared and nervous! But slowly two people grew to four, which grew to ten, twenty, and now here we are, with my meditations on all Virgin Australia flights, and a meditation teacher training program in the works. So it never came as a big aha moment, but rather a slow progression, where I look back and think, ‘Wow! This is not where I thought I’d be!’, but I followed my heart and not my head, and the universe has placed many wonderful opportunities in my lap!
How do you live consciously? / Any tips for living consciously?
M E D I T A T I O N! ha ha! I have really focused on making sure that I have removed all the things from my life that lower my vibration. I don’t have a TV, don’t read the newspaper, listen to gossipy radio. I have no chemicals in my house and haven’t had a drink for two years. I love being vegetarian, it makes my heart and soul so happy. Not everyone agrees with my lifestyle, and it’s not for everyone, but it’s right for me and that’s all that matters. I let everyone else choose what’s right for them, I don’t impose my ideas on others, and they don’t impose theirs on me.
How do you give back/support others through your work or brand?
It’s really important to me to share my success’ and struggles. I never want anyone thinking that I’m over here living the perfect life, and then comparing themselves to that. We all photo shop our lives on social media, but it’s still important for me to share both the light and the dark. So many people have reached out and said, thankyou, it makes me feel so much better to know that I am not alone, and that you struggle too. I always try to post in a way that offers value to someone, that there is an opportunity for them to learn and grow.
What does it mean to be ‘authentically you’?
I call this Self Sovereignty. Being the queen of your own kingdom! It’s about recognising what is right for me, only needs to be right for me, and allowing others the same.
You can’t please everyone. If I was talking to a group of 100 people, there would be 100 different opinions about me. Some would love that I swear, some would hate that I swear. Some would be indifferent. So who do I choose to please? It’s impossible to please others, so I can only please myself. So I do what is right for me, and when you truly know and believe that, you care so little about what others think. So I swear 🙂
Erin’s guided meditations are featured on Virgin Australia’s award winning Inflight Entertainment system, as well as Bakers Delight’s online health program.
