In Part One of our series on goal setting, we explained why goal setting is an important practice in our lives at A Conscious Beauty. This second post is where we get to the juicy bit – we show you the magic in sharing your goals.

Ruby’s tips for magic…

A vivid memory from my first few weeks with lululemon, was the common use of the phrase ‘goal crusher’. This term was new in my world, so I was keen to get in on this goal crushing business – pronto!

As part of working for the company, team members are encouraged to look their goals every 6 months. After a one on one session, our goals are mounted on the store wall, for everyone to see. Cue feelings of vulnerability. As strange as it may sound, once you do this, a funny thing happens. Those words actually become your new world of possibility. Suddenly, the whole world is rooting for you to get to that goal. YES! sharing really is caring! And this is the cool bit, about a month ago I uploaded a photo to Instagram which referred to one of my goals for December 2013. One of the first comments that came back – ‘goal crusher’. AMEN! I was officially one of them and it felt pretty darned good.

By sharing your goals, you are declaring your intentions, your passions and aspirations to the world. It is also a powerful tool in helping you be accountable for achieving them. I have also discovered that it opens you up to the opportunity of meeting people who will help you on your journey. Now that is MAGIC!
