Girl Crush – Introducing Charlie de Haas

We admit it, we have a Girl Crush on this beauty – Charlie de Haas.

A Conscious Beauty’s thoughts on Charlie:

Well….our crush on Charlie is truly more than skin deep.

After sharing Jolene Hart’s story a few months back, we were surprised to find that Jolene and Charlie had just a little in common. Both committed to wellness a through clean, unlabelled, uncomplicated approach, they also started out in very different side of the beauty world.

Having worked as a fitness model and for many years rising up the ranks of the beauty industry with products like Napolean Perdis, Charlie came to realise that her true passion was not outer beauty but coaching people to wellness. She is all about discovering your own kind of beauty, we all have it, but sometimes we need a little helping hand. That is where Charlie comes in.

We love that Charlie takes such a diverse approach to her coaching, with a number of workshops & events and is now supporting her clients (and ultimately the world) through her Clean Treats endeavour. This is one passionate wellness entrepreneur and we are blessed that she is sharing her story today.

And now from the beauty herself:

Tell us about your brand’s vision:

To share love. That together we can create a healthy happy change in the world.

Clean Treats business motto is help others others achieve what they want. My brand would not be where it is today without the love and support I have received from the people around me, and I hope this is given because of the love and integrity in my brand.

I truly believe that every time someone eats a Clean Treat, they are making a healthy change. Instead of a chocolate bar which in turn can create an insulin spike, flood the body with chemicals and create feelings of guilt which then lead to self sabotage thoughts (believe me Ive done this), enjoying a Clean Treat feels good, you feel better because you’ve made a healthy decision, there’s no guilt and your body will love you because it can understand REAL ingredients. The brand belief is be REAL, not FAKE.

What makes your brand unique? What are ‘must-haves’ for your brand?

It is simplicity.

Healthy living doesn’t need to be about eat organic, be paleo, eat all the superfoods. It is simply about eating more REAL food, less FAKE food. If it contains an ingredient you don’t understand, most likely your body won’t either. Did you know that the digestive system has more nerves than the brain?

Clean Treats is a product you can enjoy every day. Made with love, I do sing to my #balls (such as India Arie ‘you are beautiful like a flower’).

What is your favourite way to nourish your soul?

Self love Sunday.

A day that is dedicated to taking care of my soul needs. Sunshine, relaxation, friends. I also have a self love date with myself every week, normally Sunday afternoon that I use to check in with myself reflect & honour myself.

I am the CEO of my life, this is my weekly meeting to take a time out. Social media, business, even personal things can get to be too much sometimes.

What are you most grateful for in your life?

Life and everything that comes with the beautiful struggle that it is. The lows teach us to be strong, teach us to persevere, to choose opportunity thinking, the highs…well they make life enjoyable.

What has been your greatest ah-ha moment/turning point in your life to date?

When I quit full time work to follow my dreams. Trusting myself and my capabilities and that what is right for me will be (which I know can sometimes be hard to believe, but its so true!). (1 year ago).

Just recently I gave the biggest presentation/sales pitch of my life for Clean Treats aka #charliesballs, a range that I have created in 6 months. I invested a lot of time and energy into it because I believe that is is right for me, for my brand. I feel it through my veins. Obsessed & passionate. Please send me all your good thoughts & intentions!

How do you live consciously? / Any tips for living consciously?

Every day create a goal list and an intention of how you would like to be today, ‘today I will be calm’. A goal list creates clarity in order of importance of what needs to be done. I find it calms me when I get chaotically busy.

Every night consciously think of 3 things that you are grateful for. Go to sleep with a feeling of gratitude and thanks. You get back what you give out.

How do you give back & support others?

I believe that I try to do this every day by sharing my message about self love, passion and doing something you love, about being more for the community around you.

I am also real. I share my personal struggles because I know that life is not always fairy tales and rainbows, if you want something you have to work hard, and then harder for it. You have to be prepared to sacrifice for your dream and passion. It is then that I believe the universe will hear you and conspire to make your dream your reality.

What does it mean to be authentically you?

Just be real. Don’t do things you don’t want to do because somebody else has decided they are ‘cool’ or that you should do them. Trust yourself.

Embrace your individuality, your IMperfect perfections. Most of the time the world around you will see you far more beautiful than you see yourself, so give yourself a break with the self hate talk and create the best relationship of your life with yourself.

Know that on those tough days, and we all have them, just get it done, even the things you might not like to do, and know that this moment and these feelings will be over soon. A bad day does not mean a bad life.
