Favourite Finds – Mukti Organics Essential Hydration Trio

I believe I may have met my match in skincare heaven.

And I assure you, it’s not the sort of comment I throw around lightly.

Last week you may recall we brought you the beauty and brains behind the brand Mukti Organics as one of our tribe of Inspiring Sisters. If you missed it, then I suggest you click here. Today I reveal my personal review of the Essential Hydration Trio.

The story of Mukti Organic skincare started back in the year 2000, when as a beauty therapist, Mukti was looking for a product that she could authentically use on her clients. 15 years later, this humble brand from the small Queensland town of Melany, deserves every ounce of it’s recognition as one of Australia’s premium certified organic eco-luxe brands.

All products are still lovingly made by hand in order to preserve the aroma, consistency and quality that is rarely achievable by mass-produced brands. I fondly recall a similar conversation last year with the beautiful Jacqueline Evans, and can appreciate now why Mukti has also remained boutique.

The facts: why Mukti products fit the conscious beauty criteria?

// 3 pronged S.E.O approach – Sustainable, Ethical and Organic – locally sourced Certified Organic ingredients and independently certified by the OFC. Fair trade palm oil is used in minimal quantities and

// Miron glass – also called violet flame or biophotonic glass, preserves the quality of the product by minimising exposure to harmful light, allowing a longer shelf life, high vibrational qualities and minimal use of preservatives.

// All paper-based packaging is made from sustainably forested timber and uses soy-based inks and waterless printing technology.

// In addition to being Certified Organic Mukti products do not contain any of the following nasties and some!

So what’s my personal verdict? (the juicy bit)

hydrating cleansing lotion
Hydrating Cleansing Lotion

This is probably my favourite product of the trio that I tested – a hard task when you love all three. What won me over was the quality of this product, it feels luxurious and creamy to apply without overpowering you with strong scents. To be honest, I have also been searching for the perfect cleanser for a while that actually talks the talk and walks the walk. You will need a couple of cleanses to remove heavy make up but your skin will still feel smooth as silk.

I even had my sister road test the cleanser while she was staying a couple of weeks back and she too noted the quality and consistency were very high. Her biggest feedback was that it provided the hydration she needed, felt rich and luxurious. It didn’t have that watery consistency (often because water was a key ingredient) which I have experienced with some products in the past.

Ingredient Spotlight: Kakadu Palm – A common ingredient across all three products and a large amount of the Mukti range. The benefits of the Kakadu Palm are a product of it’s own exposure to extreme conditions in North Western Australia, resulting in a highly effective antioxidant, that repairs and restores the skin.

rose blossom dydrating mist toner
Rose Blossom Hydrating Mist Toner

Unlike previous experiences with toners, this was the most delicate yet effective toner I have used which didn’t cause initial redness of the skin or that tight feeling. The blend has floral undertones due to the Rose base give it a delicate but not overpowering scent. Perfect for dry or sensitive skin.

Although, it is designed to assist absorption of moisturisers, these light mists can be used on their own too to provide a cooling and balancing effect in Summer. Perfect to pop in your handbag for a warm day.

Ingredient Spotlight: Kangaroo Paw Flower – A potent antioxidant that assists in repairing oxidative stress and tissue damage. Anti-ageing and moisture retention properties.

hydrating moisturiser
Hyrdrating Moisturiser

The Hydrating moisturiser is the perfect compliment to the range and provides excellent hydration. After several days of using the trio together I noticed a change in the evenness and elasticity of my skin.

The only small issue I had, is that the moisturiser is fairly heavy so it pays to use sparingly as I did have a little t-zone shine by the end of the day. However, as this past week I wasn’t feeling 100% (aka blowing my nose A LOT, cue dry skin), combine that with winter, the moisturiser performed so well you wouldn’t know I was sick! This product left my skin tone looking and feeling even all over and felt consistently hydrated all day.

Ingredient Spotlight: Flame Tree – sounds exotic right? This native Australian extract is an anti-oxidant that has anti-inflammatory and anti-ageing properties. Contains a higher potency of photo protection than Vitamin C – hence anti-ageing.

Would I indulge again?

Absolutely, this is definitely coming in at no.1 so far on the 2015 best of the best list. It was very hard to fault this range, especially when used together. The purity of the ingredients is a result of both the carefully selected Organic ingredients and the miron glass to preserve it.

Mukti have also gone the extra mile to provide several videos alongside their products to support the formulation and how to use it. I am bursting with excitement to experience more products from Mukti – and I can see why it is a favourite of other beauties!
